A Trunk Show Gem!
I came upon Shaynar Chicago (www.shaynarpurse.com) when I was coming home from dinner one evening and I noticed my apartment building was sponsoring a trunk show in the lobby. I passed by this table filled with these beautifully colored bags. The lady behind the table informed me that the bags were all handmade and that most of the fabrics were imported from Egypt and Persia and from other parts of the Middle East.
The quality of the fabrics was very evident and there were a multitude of different sized bags from large totes to wallets available for purchase. She just so happened to already have a lot of bags available that evening but Shaynar can also custom design your purse for you to the specifications you so desire.

I ended up buying a purse while I was at the trunk show for my mom as a Christmas gift. The bag described on the Shaynar web site is called the “Mary 2006″ with dimensions of 11″ height, 15″ width and with a cross body strap that makes it 23″ length wise (see photo). It had several zipper pockets inside and had a silk interior. I was quite satisfied with the purchase and the price. For a handmade bag, $26.00 is quite reasonable. My mom ended up loving it and I am so glad I came upon discovering Shaynar!
